Carol Danvers As Captain Marvel Is Here

Carol Danvers As Captain Marvel Is Here in all her splendor appearing in images provided by Entertainment Weekly, which will be releasing their Captain Marvel issue on September 14th… In this issue, you’ll see images of Captain Marvel with members of the Kree you’ve seen before, so be prepared… Some of the Kree you’ll notice in these images are Ronan the Accuser & Korath the Pursuer who we’ve seen in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Another character to take notice of is another famous Kree, Mar-Vell aka The first Captain Marvel..

Captain Marvel History

Before we get into the live action movie and images, for those of you who have yet to read the comics, let’s go back for a little Captain Marvel history… Captain Marvel, who before that was Ms. Marvel is also Carol Danvers, a USAF Pilot… Before the incident that caused Mar-Vell’s DNA to fuse with Danvers’, Carol was military personnel… As for Mar-Vell, he was the first Captain Marvel to where the mantle of one of Earth’s greatest heroes; however, Mar-Vell was 100% Kree… Unlike Carol Danvers who is 100% Human, until the radioactive explosion that fused Mar-Vell’s DNA into hers; this is when she became half Kree because of his DNA & powers.

What makes Carol Danvers’ human side go so well with her Kree side, aside from the constant warring, both sides compliment one another… One side, her Kree side is fearless, powerful, but without any emotion whatsoever, which can be dangerous. However, her human side is flawed, but full of emotion and empathy, which is what literally makes Captain Marvel one of the greatest Marvel superheroes.

There has been Diana Prince as Wonder Woman, Bruce Wayne as Batman, and Clark Kent as Superman, but there hasn’t been a pair like Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel! Although her character was conceived in the late 1960s, it wasn’t until the late 1970s that she was given her own run as a standalone superhero, which was pretty ballsy considering the times… Most superheroes were male, and having a lead Marvel female hero with her own comic to boot, was pretty boss if you ask me. The decision panned out though, and in spades! Ms Marvel resulted in more female comic book readers, which was absolutely AWESOME, as there has never been anything more cool than a female comic book geek, for me anyway…

Captain Marvel Movie

Now onto the real life action Captain Marvel movie and images… As we all have known for some time now, Oscar Winning Actress and Hottie Brie Larsen will portray Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel in the upcoming Marvel Movie next March… Brie Larsen isn’t a stranger to comic book-inspired movies, as you’ll remember her in 2010’s Scott Pilgrim vs, the World. In fact, two of her co-stars have played iconic comic book superheroes: Brandon Routh as Superman in Superman Returns and Chris Evans as Captain America in several Marvel films. You’ll have your chance to see Brie Larsen and Chris Evans again in the upcoming Infinity Wars II, which is set for release in May 2019, two months subsequent to Captain Marvel… Carol Danvers As Captain Marvel is a one of a kind pair!

Carol Danvers As Captain Marvel

I don’t know about you, but I get all giddy when I see these images… First, let’s all acknowledge the beauty that is Brie Larsen… I tell you, she makes the suit, not the other way around! You can see the gold-enlayed symbol seen on Nick Fury’s transponder at the end of Infinity War I just before he vaporized. In the top photo you’ll see Brie Larsen as Carol Danvers wearing a Nine Inch NailsĀ  t-shirt underneath her leather jacket, which is so awesomely 90s!! Finally, on the bottom, you’ll see Brie Larsen as Captain Marvel walking towards Ronan the Accuser accompanied or actually leading four Krees, one of which is Korath, who we saw on Guardians of the Galaxy. You may not see this here, but behind Ronan stands Mar-Vell, played by none other than Jude Law.

The movie takes place in the nineties when Nick Fury had two eyes rather than one… Will we see what results in the loss of his eye in this film?

So, Carol Danvers As Captain Marvel is here… Are we ready to catch her in all her glory this coming March? What are your thoughts?
